The Covid 19 pandemic has plunged the electronics industry into a second year of uncertainty, with the additional issue of component shortages extending into 2022.

Distributors will continue  to be challenged with shortages, allocation, extended lead times, and inflationary pressures throughout the first half of 2022.

Manufacturers are experiencing similar issues with large demands from all segments of the business ; delays with manufacturing due to labour shortages and transport and logistics bottlenecks.

Improvements in lead times are anticipated for the second half of the year if output is increased and additional capacity can be achieved.

Demand across most sectors such as  military/defence, communications, industrial and transportation is expected to remain high.

Merefields Electronics is more than happy to discuss your ongoing demands and requirements covering shortages and medium to long term schedules.
